“Which is the best Clinique moisturiser?” is a question I get asked a lot. So today, I decided to put Clinique’s 2 best selling moisturisers, the Dramatically Different moisturising lotion+ and the Moisture Surge 72-hour auto-replenishing hydrator to the test to find out which one is truly superior (in my opinion!) by trying them both on different sides of my face for a week and seeing what happens.
As always, this is just my own opinion and experience, so please leave yours in the comments too!

Hi Amy, I discovered your videos a few days ago and was so pleased to find a fellow Clinique fan! I used to have type 3 skin and used the relevent 3 step set, and found the DDML to be nice but no anti-aging properties which I felt I needed, so began to layer the old green Superdefense over it after a using a couple of bottles of DDML on its own. The combo of 2 creams was great for a couple of years, then my skin suddenly changed just over 5 years ago to very dry, with peeling, cracking eylids and lips in Feb 2015. Switched to Extra Mild soap and 1.0 Clarifying lotion. Past 4-6 weeks I have been trying the hydrating jelly with blue cartridge like you, but find there is not enough moisture; I found I had samples of the Moisture surge and have been layering it over the top for the past 3 days and my skin feels much better. I haven't found a good eye cream for dark circles and fine lines, but I will try your tip for the fine lines! If you ever find a good dark circle eye cream, not one of those ones hide it, I would be so grateful!!! I love your videos, and sorry for the long post 🙂
Great video dear!! Helpful 😘😘
Hey just came across your beautiful channel, loads of love from india😘 can you please let me know, I have combination skin and now in winters I am feeling my cheeks very dry, which one should I go with?
PLEASE HELP
I really wanna know what is the difference between the packaging green and pink one in Clinique moisturizer. As the details are same mentioned something like 72 hydrator
Hi, thanks for your reviews. I typically use the dramatically different lotion. I have tried moisture surge as well, but I find that it doesn't hydrate enough for me, or it doesn't lock in moisture or something, because it's water based as opposed to oil based? I have dry combination skin (I use type 2 toner). I have also tried the new jelly, as it says is for all skin types, I find that it's also not hydrating enough.
I’ve tried the moisturize surge and agree. I love it and I’m 56 years old
Clinique moisture surge burn my skin i feel like i have wounds
I could literally see an imaginary line right through middle of your face.
The moisture surge 72 hrs,I bought ,I used on dry skin not wet,is this ok?also Is it a moisteriser to use alone or should I use a moisteriser on top?thankyou
Marie nurse
Your skin is gorgeous and you have a really warm, kind energy!
Omggg i really love your accent
you are so beautiful maigaaaaatt
Which one do you think is better for teenage skin? I’m still deciding which to use because I’m looking for a light moisturiser to use morning and night after my serum
5:40 is this product good for oily skin and fungal acne?
Thanks so much Amy for making this decision so much easier for me. I am going with the Moisture Surge 72 hour moisturizer vs the Dramatically Different 🙂 Shout out from Boston, Massachusetts!!!
Is the surge thicker than the dramatically different
* hears the accent * I’m staying
I use both at same time I use for long time I like use both at same time
Moisture surge is awesome
This is probably a stupid question but how often do you use the moisture surge moisturizer? It says it last 72 hrs, do you still use it daily or less often?
Is the clinique moisture surge good for teenagers? Around 15 years old like that
Hi amy first time to watch ur vlog. Im fr the phils.
I love both, the Intense one even more ……my two favorites ❤️ must try the tone-up one!
How can I get a better skin ? With clinique products
This should’ve bin compared to the gel rather than cream it’s different consistency gel an cream.
I've used the Dramatically different lotion for like 15 years and it's literally the ONLY moisturizer that doesn't cause any sort of breakouts or flesh bumps or anything. Literally perfect for my normal skin, gives it a glow and I actually feel like it firms my skin.
I have to say I have tried both moisturisers and prefer moisture surge as I find my skin just feels soft smooth hydrated and makeup seems to go on much better, and I find the dd moisturiser leaves my skin a little sticky and my skin is on the dry side but tends to look shiny after a few hours but it's not oily or acne prone
was thinking of purchasing the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel but if it's supposed to make skin 'glowy' it will probably end up looking oily on my Indian brown skin tone..and it's too pricy here in India to risk it,too
Hi, Amy!! I've just discovered your channel. So far I've seen only two videos, nevertheless I liked them 🙂 I'm going to see more!
Just wanted to say that I also use both (but dramatically gel not lotion) and I prefer to use the yellow one at night and the pink one during the day… but… As you conclued, I think I prefer moisture surge. Btw when I used dramatically gel without cartdrige I think it worked better that with one on it.
Greetings from México!!! 😉🙂👐
Thank you for your videos, they are wonderful!!!! I personally love the moisturizing gel because I have mild skin. The moisture surge is wonderful as well, but I personally don’t like using it on my face, it makes it feel a little sticky. I tend to use it on more dryer areas like my elbows or knees.
Great review! Thank you so much) I'm looking for a lightweight moisturiser right now as can't get my staple superdrug moisturiser due to lockdown (their simply pure serum), thinking of ordering Clinique moisture surge online, although it's pricier but seems like it fits the bill and I don't know what else to get 🙈
Hello thank you for the videos I have both and I have understand that I’m supposed to work both can you please help me my name is Monica
Ok this IS THE BEST REVIEW VIDEO FOR THESE PRODUCTS*! Thank you so so much 🌸
Love your videos. you look like a fairy in this video!
Great videos Girl. Love your work. I put the surge over my dramatically different gel. Love them both. Thank you. You look like Cinderella in that gorgeous top 💗
suuuper helpful ,gorgeous!!
I'm SO glad you made this video! I have dry-combination skin and for a while I was using both. I used the lotion in the morning (along with toner serum essence UV, the works) and I used Moisture Surge at night at the end of my routine (almost like a sleeping mask) and it did wonders. I was also using the Kiehl's eye cream but now I feel like I should have just dabbed a little extra MS instead haha.
I have used the dramatically different lotion since I was 12 and I’m 31 now. I am continuously told that I look like I’m 21. And I have 4 kids. Recently a girl was shocked that my oldest was my daughter. I am faithful to this product it’s just been there and it may not knock it out of the park on day 1 but after using it every day for almost 20 years I could not ask for better skin.
